Our Team

We are a small, woman-owned company dedicated to providing the most efficient and detailed professional horticultural services with respect for the natural environment. Using organic and regenerative methods whenever possible we ensure a healthy ecosystem for you and your family as well as your local pollinators and wildlife. While we focus on organic landscape gardening we also specialize in edible, medicinal and native plants. We also offer unique botanical design services including personalized wellness, kitchen and cut flower gardens.

MAry Melanson

Owner, Fine Gardener

Mary was born and raised on the Seacoast of New Hampshire where she has been gardening since childhood. Before gardening professionally she spent many years traveling, making art and studying plants. She now draws upon those experiences and knowledge and uses them as inspiration for creating beauty through the art and science of horticulture. In addition to gardening she is an experienced forager and herbalist and enjoys being in nature whenever possible, whether walking in the local forest or surfing year round in the Atlantic Ocean. Her passion is using her knowledge to bring beauty to her community and helping clients connect with nature through their own gardens. Since recently becoming a mother her time is being split between gardening and caring for her daughter.

Olivia Saurman

Fine Gardener

Olivia is a multigenerational Portsmouth, NH local who comes from a family of passionate gardeners. She finds a deep sense of purpose and connection to nature through all aspects of gardening and tends each clients space like it's her own. Her enthusiasm for plants is apparent in all that she does. When she's not in the garden she still tends to be immersed in nature and can be found walking in the forest or searching for sea glass along the coast.

Deb Duplessis

Fine Gardener

Deb is a lifelong gardener, seacoast NH resident of over 30 years and mother of three. In addition to raising three children she was also a foster care home provider for over 20 years. Having grown up in the White Mountains of New Hampshire she's always been deeply connected to nature and has a strong sense of working with the land. P rofessionally she spent many years working with adults with disabilities before returning to gardening as her career. Her patience and positivity are enjoyed by all who know her and she radiates joy throughout the entire garden season.
